Prinz Harry engagiert sich seit Langem in der Wohltätigkeitsarbeit, insbesondere in Afrika.
Im Jahr 2006 gründete er gemeinsam mit Prinz Seeiso von Lesotho die Organisation Sentebale, eine Wohltätigkeitsorganisation, die junge Menschen mit HIV und AIDS in Lesotho und Botswana unterstützt.
Nun steht diese Organisation im Zentrum einer Kontroverse. Die Vorsitzende der Wohltätigkeitsorganisation, Sophie Chandauka, hat Harry der Belästigung und Einschüchterung beschuldigt.
Er trat kürzlich nach einem Streit zurück, den er laut Digi24 als „verheerend“ beschrieb.
Harry gründete die Organisation gemeinsam mit Prinz Seeiso. Sowohl er als auch Seeiso sowie der Vorstand entschieden sich nach dem Konflikt mit Chandauka zum Rücktritt.
In einem Interview mit Sky News kritisierte Chandauka Harrys Verhalten. Sie erklärte, er habe am Dienstag die Veröffentlichung belastender Informationen genehmigt, ohne sie oder andere Schlüsselpersonen der Organisation darüber zu informieren.
In his book, published in January 2023, Harry admitted to using cocaine at 17. He said it did not make him happy but made him feel different.
He also wrote that marijuana helped him more than cocaine did.
The court’s decision to release the files follows an earlier ruling in 2024. At that time, a judge found there was not enough public interest to justify making Harry’s immigration records available.
The Heritage Foundation appealed. The case continues as Harry remains in the US with Meghan, whom he moved with in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties.
His visa status remains unclear, as Meghan is a US citizen.
